In Support OfIlluminate Gives Back
Proceeds from #2017Illuminate will benefit The Dean Thomas Moinet Foundation
A portion of the #2017Illuminate conference proceeds will support The Dean Thomas Moinet foundation.
The Dean Thomas Moinet (DTM) Foundation facilitates a relationship between the local church and local hospitals to meet the holistic needs of families with medically fragile children. Founder and Executive Director Nicolette Moinet explains, “We saw a need to connect non-local families who are traveling to Duke and UNC hospitals (for specialized treatment for their children) with their faith communities. Our strategy is to create and actionable model of programs that will meet the needs of families in the hospitals.”
The DTM Foundation is in the first phase of development, gathering data about what families need and how it can best serve them spiritually, emotionally, and physically through programs. Simultaneously, they are educating churches about the needs of these families and helping them create a ‘hospital ministry’ to be able to partner with the DTM Foundation.
In phase two, churches will be invited to adopt the DTM Foundation model and serve families with medically fragile children through the foundation. Once trained and empowered with a model that guarantees success, the relationship between the local hospitals and local church will flourish and families will get the support they desperately need during their child’s treatment.
The Illuminate committee is honored to support the this wonderful local charity.
