Raleigh Fall Family Photography

We have incredible talent in our Vend Raleigh Professional Photographers group and with fall around the corner, I asked their favorite Triangle locations for family photos. Here’s what they said…

Erica Courtine PhotographyMy favorite location for family portraits in the triangle is Oak View County Park in Raleigh.  This adorable little park is a touch of country within the city.  The setting is an old farm and features trees with beautiful fall foliage, rustic buildings, a cotton field, and even a couple of goats to greet you.  The late afternoon sun highlights the fall color even more.  As an added bonus, you can pick up pecans from under the pecan trees if you visit in early November.  ~ Erica Courtine of Erica Courtine Photography a Vend Raleigh Directory Member

Allie Carpenter PhotographyMy favorite place to shoot fall family photos is Sugg Farm Park in Holly Springs.  Besides the fact that it’s convenient to mine and most of my client’s homes, there’s such a wide variety of “looks” to capture there.  On one huge property there’s tall grassy fields, beautiful fence work, rustic barns and an old house.  I find it’s the perfect backdrop for the dreamy, rustic feel my clients are looking for!  ~ Allie Carpenter of Allie Carpenter Photography a Vend Raleigh Directory Member

627 PhotographyOne of my favorite places to photograph families in Cary in the fall is the North Cary Park.  This park has a nice trail that meanders behind the playground, across a bridge (very popular shooting spot), and around a big green lawn.  The lawn provides lots of room for running and the surrounding trees have the most beautiful colored leaves in late October and early November.  In the afternoon the light hits the trees just right, casting a sunny yellow glow.   There is also an awesome playground, so families with little kids can reward good behavior with play time after their session!  ~ Amy Hill of 627 Photography a Vend Raleigh Directory Member

jess rotenberg raleigh family photosI tend to gravitate toward locations that are less popular and my favorite location (other than a client’s home) is NC State’s Centennial campus. It’s lush, landscaped, fairly empty on weekends and offers safe places for little ones to run. The new Hunt Library offers ice cream on the bottom floor which makes for a great sweet treat after any session! ~ Jess Rotenberg of Jess Rotenberg Photography a Vend Raleigh Directory Member
