Successful Raleigh Small Business Event | Raleigh Mompreneurs
Last night’s Spring Sip and Shop was great! Having the entire Halle Cultural Arts Center was perfect! You all were amazing! Everyone was fun to talk with and shop with! A true Girls Night Out atmosphere!
Some successes:
Another impressive Vend event that introduced hundreds of local consumers to a new way to shop Raleigh small businesses- our unique Vend Raleigh Business Directory!
Many of you said you had return shoppers for our last Sip and Shop in November! They bought and they brought friends!
I heard several direct sales reps say they booked parties on the spot and got many contacts!
Mompreneurs listed ways they have connected with people within Vend and outside our group just by networking that led to experiences and job opportunities that wouldn’t have been open to them had it not been for our vendor events.
Several complimented how well the event was run and promoted. “Everything you all put on it is great.” “This is the only Vendor event I do, because it’s Vend!” “I want to be a part of the next Sip and Shop!”
Momprenuers were working on marketing in a fun way by getting their headshots done with Traci Huffman!
The volunteers for our non-profit Postpartum Education and Support were lovely, excited and so welcoming to our shoppers! I’ll let you know what our final number is for our donation next week. Thank you Suzanne Miller of InterExchange Au Pair USA for introducing us!
Special thanks you’s to Hunter Forstchen of Katiebug Bows and Kristin Loy of Macaroni Kid South Raleigh for being part of the Sip and Shop committee. Michelle Bertoncino of Five Bees was our lead and she does an amazing job! She is very organized, thoughtful, and really is the backbone for our vendor events!
Carey Rivers of Fonville Morrisey and Robin Bandong of Mickey World Travel were top sponsors and I got an opportunity to introduce them both last night!
Friends Irene Gouge of Loving Lessons and Kelly Phillips of Boost Interactive Media showed up just to pitch in and helped with many things but mostly took charge of the raffle- and they were awesome and lively! Clare Luffman of Dream Unlimited, Leeann Eagle of Little Once Boutique and “the girls” of All Wrapped Up Parties (Alexis and Julia) helped out by being our Winetenders!
Thanks again to Anne Flanagan of Raleigh Cake Pops for creating our graphics many of our events!
Everyone was just so easy and flexible last night. This is really why we do what we do at Vend. We truly are a group of women so excited about business that we can get excited about other women’s businesses!
Jami Scull is a sweetheart and our photographer for the evening, and I can’t wait to get those images to show you!
Check out pics from the night on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using hashtags #vendraleigh and #sipshop2014. By the way, this morning we hit 1600 likes on the Vend Raleigh Facebook page!
Another successful event, Vend Raleigh!

I had a great night at the Sip and Shop! This event gets bigger and bigger each time. MORE great shopping and more great Mompreneurs to connect with. Keep up the great work Cary.
What a great night! Thanks so much for all of our volunteers and vendors. This is definitely a team effort lead by the wonderful Michelle Bertoncino of Five Bees!! I’m already looking forward to having Katiebug Bows back again!
